Correggio (Re), 29 October 2015 – Parma Calcio 1913 lost on penalties to Correggese this afternoon at Correggese’s Walter Borelli Stadium and were eliminated from the Coppa Italia. (See table in the margins).
The match was tied at 0-0 at the end of normal time after a back and forth game. The crociata were dangerous in the first half and almost scored when Matteo Guazzo hit the crossbar from a free kick in the 38’.
The second half favored Correggese much more. Luigi Apolloni’s boys would have conceded three time had it not been for the heroic efforts of goalkeeper Alioune Fall, who keep the score level.
The qualification to the second round of the cup then rested on the result of a penalty shootout. Three Parma players failed to score and the club was unluckily knocked out of the tournament.
