Parma, December 6, 2015- This afternoon, Parma Calcio 1913, at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, defeated Ravenna 3-2, guaranteeing themselves first place with only two matches remaining in the winter campaign, the first half of the season in Serie D, group D.
The Crociata went ahead 3-0 before the end of the first half. The goals were scored, in order, by Michele Messina (a pre-match substitution for Maikol Benassi, the usual first-stringer, who was injured during warm-ups) , an own goal from Davide Ballardini, and from Yves Baraye.
1-0, 11’: Messina scores, finding himself at the end of a cross from Francesco “Ciccio” Corapi from the right-center and tapping it in.
2-0, 16’: A header from Corapi, following a cross by Daniele Melandri from the left wing, accidentally deflects off of Ballardini and ends up in his own net.
3-0, 23’: A lethal counterattack from Baraye brings everyone in front of the Curva Nord in celebration.
Manager Luigi Apolloni’s boys, in the second half, wasted several different chances to solidify the result, but failed, allowing Ravenna to fight back into the match. First, a penalty kick at 75’ brought the match back to 1-3, scored by Riccardo Innocenti, following a handball in the box from Messina. At 92’, Ballardini scored to pull his team back to 2-3, but it was not enough and Parma went off victorious.
